Accuride slides are designed for indoor use and should be protected from excessive moisture, chemical fumes, dirt and corrosion.
Accuride slide material samples are subjected to salt spray testing according to the ASTM B117-07 standard and evaluation per B-633-07a (requirements for electrodeposited zinc coatings).

Item number prefixes for coated mild steel slides
The following product prefixes denote the type of plating and the level of corrosion resistance according to the tested samples:
CZ/DZ: electro zinc plate and blue passivate, commercial plating: no white rust is allowed on tested parts after 12 hours of exposure in the salt spray tester
DB: electro zinc plate and black passivate, commercial black plating: no white rust is allowed over tested parts after 96 hours of exposure in the salt spray tester
DH: corrosion resistant (up to 96 hours), higher resistant plating: less than 5% white rust is allowed over tested parts after 96 hours of exposure in the salt spray tester
DP: corrosion resistant (up to 500 hours), passivate high resistance plating: less than 5% white rust is allowed over tested parts after 500 hours of exposure in the salt spray tester
MZ/MB: Higher thickness of electro zinc plate, including stainless steel ball bearings and retainers. Available as MZ (blue passivate) and MB (black passivate).
SZ/SB: Special specification agreed individually with the customer.
CY/MY: electro zinc plated yellow passivate (this variant is no longer offered)

DS/ST: Stainless steel
- Mild steel slides and aluminium slides are greased with High-Low temperature grease, minimum operating range -20° to +110°C
- The grease used in stainless steel slides is food grade lubricant. This is not harmful to health if applied as directed, has no taste or smell and is suitable for use where contact with food products is unavoidable. In addition, the grease does not include any volatile organic compounds
